OHL CALCULATION SOFTWARE

Imedexsa’s H.V.L. calculation software was designed and implemented by engineers from Imedexsa’s IT and Technical Departments to facilitate the calculation of high voltage overhead lines of up to 220 kV.

The programme enables ground plans and profiles to be imported from AutoCAD, or topographical data can be entered manually. Indications can also be entered in the profile regarding angles or crossings (roads, existing lines, rivers, buildings, farms and ranches, etc.).

The minimum elevation and maximum stringing temperature can be entered, and wind speeds of 120 km/h, 130 km/h, 140 km/h, 160 km/h and 180 km/h can be calculated. The site layout of supports can be done semi-automatically, or the supports can be placed in set locations or graphically, keeping in mind the catenary sections.

Once the site layout is complete, the line can be optimised by changing the support locations and modifying heights by dragging the mouse.

The default database contains phase conductors, protective conductors, insulators, fittings, protective elements and prices, and these data can be expanded and/or edited by the user.

After calculating the line, the following results are shown:

Una vez calculada la línea, se obtienen los siguientes resultados:

The definitive profile can be displayed graphically

(with the selected supports)

Definitive profile can be exported to AutoCAD

Verification of spacing

Stringing chart and sag

Calculation of force on supports

Calculation of minimum distances

Calculation of foundations

(Square pad and chimney foundation, square block foundation, circular foundation)
